Polish M-346, F-16 jets train together for first time
Polish M-346 and F-16 jest train together for first time. |
The M-346 instructor pilots of the Polish Air Force conducted the first joint training together with Polish F-16 fighters in early October. The exercise marked a further step to integrate the AJT system in the 41st Deblin Air Base School. The Col. Pil. Konrad Madej, who participated in the training, described the activity as "momentous".
This exercise made amateur photographers enthusiastic, but especially confirmed the excellent choice made by Poland in the purchase of the Leonardo's AJT training system and M-346 aircraft. The M-346 boasts features very similar to those of fourth and fifth generation aircraft, the Italian Air Force often uses the trainer jet in joint activities with the Typhoon.
Currently only pilots instructors previously trained in Italy fly the Bielik. Before boarding students, they have to improve their skills, but also adapt the entire training system to the Polish standard. The first flight of a Polish pilot in the M-346 was successfully completed in Galatina, Italy, at the beginning of March 2016 (More details here).
According to the plans, the first students will start to be trained with the new system next year.
