Organisers of the Royal International Air Tattoo have confirmed that tickets for this year's event are selling at a record rate. Sales have increased further following the recent confirmation of the Italian aerobatic team “Frecce Tricolori” as well as the Reparto Sperimentale Volo (RSV) who will be performing in the skies over Gloucestershire with the F-2000A Typhoon multi-role fighter, the T-346A advanced trainer and the C-27J cargo aircraft.
The Italian Air Force will also be sending a G-550 CAEW air surveillance aircraft, a P-72 maritime patrol aircraft and an HH-139 SAR helicopter for the static display.
Head of Air Operations at Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises, Peter Reoch said: "The Frecce Tricolori are always a welcome addition to the RIAT flying programme and visitors who joined us in 2022 will know how impressive and energetic their display is to watch.
"We're grateful to the Italian Air Force for their continued support and look forward to welcoming their aircraft and crew to RAF Fairford later this year."

Italian demo teams are highly regarded around the world, especially at the RIAT where last year the RSV won the Sir Douglas Bader Trophy for Best Individual Flying Demonstration thanks to the performance of the C-27J. The crew of the C-27J aircraft performed maneuvers uncommon for a cargo aircraft, highlighting its flight capabilities and astonishing the public with a great technical demonstration. The same award had also been won in 2011 and 2022, while in 1989 and 1997 it had been won with the former G-222 cargo aircraft.
