On 6-7 July Leonardo participated in the Saskatchewan Air Show 2019 at Moose Jaw, Canada, where it showcased the Aermacchi M345 Tutor II, the company's most modern and technologically advanced jet trainer. The aircraft is one of the candidates to replace the CT-114 Tutor in the Canadian aerobatic team "Snowbirds".

The Snowbirds play an important role in the armed force. Serving as ambassadors of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), they demonstrate the high level of skill, professionalism, teamwork, discipline and dedication inherent in the men and women of the RCAF and inspire the pursuit of excellence wherever they go in North America.

This is the reason why the choice of the new jet is a fundamental step for the Canadian aerobatic team. However, the M-345 has an excellent reference that can help Canada in its choice. It has already been selected by the Italian aerobatic team "Frecce Tricolori". The Frecce Tricolori are one of the most acclaimed aerobatic teams worldwide thanks to their complex and exciting flying display and their world largest formation composed of 10 jets. The Italian Air Force has chosen the M-345 after a careful and accurate evaluation considering that it will perform a key task and will have to replace the iconic and performing MB-339.

Previously Leonardo's Tutor II was previewed at the CANSEC fair in Ottawa (More details here).
