May 1, 2019 - After successfully providing over four years of Close Air Support and Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) support to the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the US Navy, Draken International has been awarded the follow-on Terminal Attack Controller Trainer Services Contract.

The TACT contract, issued by the Naval Air Warfare Center, has a value of $250 million with a total ordering period of up to ten years. This new contract will continue to ensure the USMC and US Navy’s Forward Air Controllers and JTACs certification and qualification training and readiness needs are met.

“We feel very fortunate to be afforded the opportunity over the next decade to continue building upon the four years of successful, highly credible close air support training for the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy”, states the CEO of Draken International, Jared Isaacman. Draken has safely employed over 2,000 training ordnance on ranges in support of JTAC training for the USMC and the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center. Draken will continue to operate the most advanced Douglas T/A-4K Skyhawk aircraft complemented by their fleet of L-159 Honey Badgers. Draken’s L-159s currently provide adversary air support for the United States Air Force and Air National Guard. These two platforms will guarantee a decade of delivering professional, safe, and on-time training solutions for the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy,” states Lt. Col Jeff Scott, a retired USMC AV-8B / F-35 pilot now serving as Draken’s Director of USMC Business Development. "Our A-4 and L-159 jet aircraft accurately represent U.S. fighter / attack aircraft speeds, profiles and tactics," adds Scott.

The TACT contract award was just one of many recent exciting Draken updates. The 18th fastest growing private company in the US, ranked by Inc. 500, is the only commercial adversary operator with certified tactical fighters employing advanced radars and 4th generation capabilities, Draken’s A-4 Skyhawks equipped with APG-66 radars and L-159 Honey Badgers with GRIFO-L radars have proven to be highly effective adversaries for the USAF, ANG, USMC and international partners. The company recently added 24 Mirage F-1M/B and 12 Cheetahs to its fleet, furthering its commitment to expand capacity and capabilities. Both fleets of supersonic, radar equipped jets are extremely low-time, affording Draken the ability to provide the warfighter highly effective 4th generation adversary training for decades to come.
