IRAQ-IRAN EARTHQUAKE, ITALIAN AIR FORCE PROVIDES AID
An Italian Air Force Boeing KC-767 aircraft has provided Italian humanitarian aid to people affected by the earthquake between Iraq and Iran.

November 14, 2017 - An Italian Air Force KC-767 aircraft belonging to 14° Stormo took off from Brindisi airport to provide assistance to the people affected by the earthquake between Iraq and Iran. Brindisi Airport includes the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) managed by the ONU agency called World Food Program (WFP).
The aircraft embarked blankets and the most important aid as sanitary kits provided by the Dipartimento della Protezione Civile and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The Moving & Transportation (M & T) personnel of Brindisi Detachment with the logistic support of UNHRD carried out palletizing and loading operations.
The Ministry of Defense, through the Italian Air Force, provides support for humanitarian missions, especially during the major natural disasters or other events that require aid and support for affected populations. The latest relief operations were provided to the Philippines affected by typhoon Haiyan, Mali and Libya.
