USAF TO SEND BOMBERS TO UK

B-52 Stratofortress and B-1 Lancer are the candidates for a "show of force" to Moscow.

USAF Bombers

According to washingtonexaminer.com, the US Air Force will shortly be sending some bombers to the UK to participate in exercises and give a warning to Russia.

The Air Force will send some of its bombers to England in June to assure allies and deter adversaries in Europe, the general in charge of Air Force Global Strike Command said Wednesday.

The US officer did not disclose what types of aircraft will be sent to Europe, but looking at the RIAT 2017 participant list, we assume they may be B-52 Stratofortress or B-1 Lancer aircraft.

Also last summer the USAF sent a B-52 and two B-1s to Fairford to participate in some exercises, including the Ample Strike in the Czech Republic. The bombers also took part in the NATO Air Days 2016 in Ostrava.

Tensions between the United States and Moscow have worsened in recent months, mainly due to disagreements in Syria's actions. The US recently sent new F-35A stealth fighters to Europe as a "show of force".
