Aviation enthusiasts are gearing up for an unforgettable weekend this September, as one of Europe's most important airshows is scheduled to take place in northern Italy. Rivolto Air Base will host a major airshow to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Frecce Tricolori on September 6 and 7, 2025. This event honours over six decades of the Frecce Tricolori's illustrious history in aerobatic performance, cementing their position as one of the world's premier aerobatic teams. The airshow aims to highlight the Frecce Tricolori's enduring legacy and their contributions to military aviation excellence, as well as provide a glimpse into their future.
As underlined by the Italian Air Force, the event will not only celebrate the past and present of the Frecce Tricolori, but also the future of aerobatics in Italy. The team's next steps will be marked by the arrival of the modern T-346 PAN (M-346) jet, which will replace the current MB-339 PAN within the next three years. The event will offer all enthusiasts the opportunity to admire the new aircraft up close for the first time ever. It will be part of a static display retracing the history of the Frecce Tricolori.

The airshow will feature an eight-hour flying display. The picturesque landscape of the area will provide the ideal backdrop for performances by numerous international teams, including the Patrouille de France, Poland's Orlik Team, Finland's Midnight Hawks, Croatia's Krila Oluje, Lithuania's Baltic Bees, the Turkish Stars, the Patrouille Suisse, Spain's EF-18M Hornet, and Austria's The Flying Bulls.
The Italian Air Force will delight the crowd with demo flights of the T-346A, F-2000A Typhoon, and C-27J Spartan aircraft from the Reparto Sperimentale Volo (RSV), a Search and Rescue demonstration by the HH-139B helicopter, and performances by the F-35A and F-35B fifth-generation fighters. In addition, there will be flyovers of aircraft that have made aviation history, such as the G-91 PAN, which was highly acclaimed last month at RIAT 2025, the Soko G-2 Galeb (along with a Eurofighter), the Caproni Ca.3, and the SPAD XIII R.
