Greek military leader visits Leonardo Company facilities in Italy

The Chief of the General Aviation Staff (GA), Vice Admiral (I) Themistocles Bourolias, visited the plants of the Leonardo Aircraft Division and Leonardo Helicopters Division, in Italy, from 9 to 11 November 2022. This trip allowed him to deepen the knowledge of the M-346 advanced trainer aircraft that will soon be introduced at the International Flight Training Center, at the Kalamata Air Base, Greece. Thanks to an agreement with the Israeli company Elbit Systems, the Hellenic Air Force will take delivery of 10 M-346 jets.

During his visit, the GEA Chief met some representatives of Leonardo, including the Managing Director, Mr. Marco Zoff, the Senior Vice President Commercial & Customer Services, Mr. Dario Marfe and the Vice President International Campaigns, Italian Government Export Support, Mr. Francesco Barontini, who informed him about the progress of the production of the M-346s for Greece, the support activities for the Hellenic Air Force C-27J Spartans and the F-35 program. He also discussed topics of common interest.

On 10 November he also had the opportunity to take a ride in an M-346 during which he was able to verify the high performance of the aircraft.
