Italian Air Force Eurofighter prepares to refuel over Iraq.

Two Italian Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon multi-role combat aircraft, assigned to Task Group Typhoon/Italian National Contingent Command Air (IT NCC AIR) - Task Force Air Kuwait, carried out a record 8-hour reconnaissance mission in Iraq on April 14, 2022, according to the Italy's Ministry of Defense.

"This milestone confirms the reliability and proven operational capabilities of the F-2000 Typhoon fighter," the MoD said. The mission in Iraq set a new record that was made possible thanks to multiple aerial refueling operations involving Coalition tankers and proved the aircraft's persistence and effectiveness.

The F-2000 aircraft are among the multiple assets of the Italian Air Force assigned to Task Force Air Kuwait, an operational component of the IT NCC-AIR, which operate under the multinational Operation "Inherent Resolve".

The Eurofighter is a latest generation aircraft, one of the most advanced fighter aircraft ever developed in Europe, capable of offering wide-ranging operational capabilities and unrivaled effectiveness in Air Defense.
