Dutch F-16 fighters temporary deployment at Eindhoven AFB

Dutch F-16 deployment Eindhoven
Dutch F-16 takes off from Eindhovem airport.

As reported by Joris van Boven, eight Dutch F-16s were temporarily deployed at the Eindhoven air base from Monday 3 to Wednesday 5 June due to maintenance work at their home-base in Volkel, the Netherlands.

On Monday 3 June the fighter jets reached Eindhoven after their morning flight. While in Eindhoven, the F-16s carried out two daily missions, approximately at 10 AM and 2 PM.

Thanks to the proximity between the car park of the civil airport and the operational area of the military zone, Joris was able to take great pics of the aircraft during the pre-mission phases and rare take-offs with liners in the background. Eindhoven is an airport for military and civilian use that hosts many low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and the heavy planes of the Royal Netherlands Air Force. Often it offers the opportunity to admire the home-based KDC-10 and C-130 aircraft and some foreign guests such as the USAF C-17s.

The last two pics also show the Dutch T-235 tanker which recently received a special tail to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the 334th Squadron.
