USAF SENDS F-35A TO PARIS AIR SHOW 2017

The U.S. Air Force will send the F-35A Lightning II joint strike fighter aircraft to participate in the Paris Air Show this June, Air Force officials announced May 6, 2017.

F-35A will take part at Paris Air Show 2017

In April, eight F-35A Lightning II fighters and several hundred Airmen deployed to Europe demonstrating the aircraft's readiness to conduct operations with America's European partners. The first major overseas training deployment for the aircraft is providing an opportunity for the combat-ready aircraft to integrate alongside allies in a realistic training environment. Participation in the Paris Air Show will further demonstrate the ability of the Air Force, and our international partners, to deliver a broad range of combat airpower to any mission set.

"The F-35A strengthens partnerships and improves regional stability," said Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein. "We welcome the opportunity to further demonstrate the revolutionary capabilities of this aircraft."

"Every deployment of this game-changing weapons system enhances our readiness...the maintainers, operators and mission support warriors get better and better," said Gen. Tod Wolters, Commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe."When we deploy we operate as a coalition. Operationalizing and integrating the F-35 makes us a stronger fighting force."
