The newly elected president of the United States in a tweet announces the intention to cancel the order for the future 747 Air Force One to the american company.

Boeing 747 Air Force One

"Boeing is building a new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but the costs are out of control, more than 4 billion dollars. Cancel the order! ". Mr Trump tweeted.
Already during the election campaign Donald Trump had criticized the high costs of new Air Force One.

The replacement was necessary because the current Air Force One is getting old, not only for the age (the current two aircraft entered service in 1990), but for technical reasons. Boeing no longer produces this version, around the globe there are about twenty aircraft, all cargo in poor countries, and whenever a piece breaks or deteriorates must realize specifically at exorbitant costs.
After a work initiated during the presidency of Bush Jr. (2001-2009) U.S. Air Forces and Boeing signed the first of many agreements that will lead to the introduction of new federal aircraft, the B747-8 reconfigured, which have the same style of the current ones with white-gray-light blue livery and famous big writing United States of America. The Air Force One today boasts 372 square meters of interior space spread over three levels (including the hold), and containing the office, the meeting room, the bedroom and a small hospital. It also comes with all the latest technology against explosives, includes the necessary tools to the president to work even in case of attack on the country and a kitchen that can prepare up to one hundred meals simultaneously.

Hard to believe that Trump really wants to break relations with Boeing, rather being a businessman his aim is to get a price reduction.

After Trump's statement, Boeing has promptly issued a press release: "We are currently under contract for 170 million dollars to satisfy the capabilities of these complex military aircraft that serve the unique requirements of the President of the United States. We look forward to working with the US Air Force on the subsequent phases of the program that allows us to deliver the best airplanes to the president at the best price for the American taxpayer."
